Halloween Model Competition

31st of October 2021

This model competition started when my brother Andrew contacted me the week before saying there is reporter wanting to know if and how Hobby Bounties celebrated Halloween, as there still many restrictions in gathering.

I though about it and decided to create a Halloween Model Competition 2021 to excite most of us who are stuck at home. The rules Is basically open to everything models.

The surprise was people started complaining that it was too short notice, and after the initial 24 hours, people completed models that was work-in-progress (WIP) and some started new models, and we had quite a few entries.

As usual, the fastest and most creative was Razali Ahmad. For the Vampire Bat Plane, he built that is less than a week from the Airfix 72nd D H Vampire. His 1939 Batgyro with the Bat face in front, and being scratch-built, was a hands down winner.

Ee Keok Lye’s entry was ‘crash landing, which is a 90mm resin kit from AK Interactive. It is a science fiction girl sitting on an engine diorama was beautifully painted.

And Mat Irvine’s crypt keeper was horror-fying realistic. It reminds me not to go into the crypt at night. Mat has submitted some wonderful horror – science fiction models such as Screamin Hellraiser and the caricature Pinhead, Monogram Macabre car diorama, ‘Nightmare before Christmas’, Pyscho’s Norman Bates house and car etc

Mentioned should be made for Adam Pratt’s Dr Plaguin model.
